A-Level and GCSE Maths (Page 2)

At later stages of home-schooling, parents will require outside help especially in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry. The internet is an excellent method of providing this outside help and it is hoped that this site will be a contribution to home-schooling in mathematics.

To help those intending to send questions, the following conventions should be observed:

(1) Send email in a font that is NOT proportional.

(2) Do not use the TAB key

(3) Do not send file attachments. (Danger of spreading a virus)

(4) Start a new line for the start of a question or part of a question.

(5) To represent 'powers' use the ^ symbol. E.G. x^2, x^3, x^(1/4)

(6) Use sqrt(x) to represent square root of x.

(7) Use the / symbol to denote divide. E.G. 5/7 to represent 5 divided by 7

(8) To avoid ambiguity use brackets. E.G. x/(3+y) and NOT x/3+y which could also mean (x/3)+y
